High-Altitude Trail

1.600 mgroomed high above everyday life

Cross-country skiing with a view

After a relaxed ride on the Papagenobahn to around 1,600 metres above sea level, the stunning Rossbrand High-Altitude Trail awaits you.

Wide plateaus, open forests and a panorama in every direction: the atmosphere up here is reminiscent of Scandinavia, only with a view of the Dachstein.

Freshly groomed

Ready before you arrive

By the time you come up on the Papagenobahn, the work is already done. Early in the morning, our snow groomer covers the 16 kilometres of the High-Altitude Trail, smooths the skating lane and sets the classic track alongside it. The winter hiking trail to the summit cross is perfectly groomed, too. So every morning, grippy snow and a trail await you on which your skis glide as if by themselves.

The snowcat lays the first track, all the others are yours.

Stop, take a deep breath and enjoy the view: a 360° panorama of more than 150 Alpine peaks.
